We toured a spice garden near Thekkady, It was a demonstration garden for tourists, with samples of most of the spices that grow in Kerala and other tropical places. Our guide is showing us the ladder tree. It grows steps at regular intervals and provides a handy way to climb up into the trees for harvesting and pruning.
