Though the Hindu religion uses many different idols as an aid for worship, most Hindus believe in one God and view all these different gods and goddesses as different aspects or personalities of the same one God. In Hindu mythology, Lord Subramania is the son of Lord Siva, the god of destruction and his wife Parvati. Some of Lord Subramanya’s other names are Guha, Muruga, Kumaresa, Kartikeya, Shanmukha, and Velayudhan. He represents a person of perfection. He is the war God, the Hindu equivalent of Mars and Ares.
